Evenfall

The sunset seen from the coastal railway on the west coast of Japan was something to remember. The sun reflected on the water-filled but empty rice firlds. This is the part of the country beaten by a bitterly cold winter and strong winds and the knowledge of its imminent arrival increased the sense of elemental sadness. These were exhibited in the Llanidloes Artists’ Autumn Exhibition in October 2019.
