I have a very small collection of Japanese pottery, some of which have been chipped or broken over the years. The broken pieces have been kept in the hope that one day I would mend it with kintsugi - a technique to put broken pottery pieces together with gold so that their imperfections can be embraced.

This year started with a horrible persistent cold which nullified the modest plans I had for the New Year. January seemed to have passed with non-art related events which made me increasingly frustrated.
